Velux is preparing for the future of the building

Faced with a shortage of skilled labor in the construction sector and the challenges of the energy transition, Velux is investing in youth training. Since launching its program in September 2022, more than 2,780 apprentices have been welcomed into 49 partner institutions across France. This unique program in the sector combines technical skills and sales expertise in the profession of roof window installer and consultant. In collaboration with specialized schools, the group is working closely with local communities to enhance the appeal of construction professions. Two pathways are offered in vocational training centers (CFA): a vocational certificate (CAP) focused on installation and a professional certificate (BP) specializing in combined solutions and skylights. For Velux, this initiative addresses a dual challenge: preparing the next generation of tradespeople and supporting the sustainable transformation of the sector.
